Exports

The province's exports are primarily derived from mining, with additional contributions from the horticultural and olive production chains, among others. However, the latter sectors have a relatively minor role in the overall export composition.

External sales of minerals such as lithium carbonate have a strong impact on provincial exports, representing 72% of the total.

Analyzing the evolution of foreign trade in the period 2019-2023, Catamarca almost doubled its exports, with a growth of 92.2%.

Manufactured goods exports of industrial origin increased by 11.5% compared to 2022 and exceeded the historical milestone registered in 2019. The increase, 90%, is due to the registration of exports of lithium carbonate, a trend that will continue to rise. in the next years.

The products that increased their exports the most -compared to 2022- were oranges (+1000%), processed wool (+900%), extra virgin olive oil (+280%) and lithium carbonate (+70%).
