businesses, foreign currency income, preservation of identity values, and the generation of local employment.

Promotion and development of the tourism offer
Catamarca works on the development of its tourist offerings, primarily focusing on four products/axes:
01. Religious tourism
02. Thermal tourism
03. Nature tourism
04. Archaeological-cultural tourism

The Province is undertaking an extensive national tourism promotion campaign with advertisements during prime time on open TV, in digital media, and on outdoor advertising in the main squares of the country.

Active participation in fairs and events is also maintained to promote and position the destination at both national and international levels.

For the development of the tourist offerings, a specific credit line is promoted for the sector, aimed at investments in tourism infrastructure and services.

To strengthen existing thermal products and develop new ones, work is underway on the development of a Thermal Tourism Plan.

Significant hotel investments are nearing completion, including a 5-star hotel in Fiambalá and others under construction by a major international chain.

Currently, there are 9.107 hotel rooms in the province. The projection is to increase them in the short and medium term.
Tourism flow and economic impact

In the second half of 2021, tourism in Catamarca had an economic impact of 3.347 million Argentine pesos.

During this period, 522.107 tourists arrived in Catamarca, of which 329.832 stayed in the various accommodation options the province provides, with an average stay of two nights.

The mentioned tourists spent an average of $4.963 per day, resulting in the total economic impact caused by tourism during the second semester of the year.

The overall hotel occupancy rate was 52.2%, with peak occupancy during specific dates in October, November, and December.
